Career Investigator

Many of the Construction Trades are facing labor shortages. Hence there are many opportunities to get free training, work-based training and financial support for training. High quality local training programs are available in high school through Northwest Education Services Career Tech Center, and post-secondary at Northwestern Michigan College--in collaboration with and taught by experienced Trade professionals. Construction methods are increasingly incorporating technology in the materials and services offered, and are also transforming the design, materials and assembly processes for greater sustainability and consistency. The path to become a Master in your chosen trade also remains an option for specialized and high-end projects with the higher pay to reflect your advanced skills. Strong people skills can lead to business leadership and ownership.
